Jim McGinty Says – Statements Made In SMRC Ad Were Not Approved By The Dept Of Health

As you already know residents involved with CMCOAG contacted the Dept of Health and DEC immediately after the SMRC published their full ads in our local papers.

However now we have it in writing (officially) from Jim McGinty who is the Attorney General and Minister for Health that…

Quote from Jim McGinty’s letter:
“I note your comments regarding an advertisement placed in the Melville City Herald by the Southern Regional Metropolitan Council (SMRC), which included references to the DOH. The statements made in the advertisement and attributed to the DOH were not approved by the DOH. The DOH has not been able to verify that there are no toxic emissions from the RRRC facility.”

I know some of you – and us as well – were very disheartened that the Dept of Health and DEC didn’t not speak up about this. Residents involved with the CMCOAG requested that DEC and the Health Dept also put full page ads in the local papers clearing up this issue.
