Your Important Questions About The…
— COMMUNITY MEETING —
Sunday the 4th May!
===============================================
Hi there
There’s a been a few questions and concerns that residents are raising in regards to the meeting on Sunday.
So we thought we’d cover the questions in the newsletter so you can pass the word on.
1. Are the SMRC invited? – It seems to be on everyone’s mind.
2. Have Councillors been invited?
3. Have State Govt MP’s been invited?
4. Heckling and harassing of residents suffering from the RRRC WCF odour will not be tolerated.
====================================
1. Are the SMRC invited?
No.
The residents being exposed to the odour are top priority here.
a. This is a community meeting for the residents suffering from the odour coming from the RRRC Waste Composting Faclility. It’s based on what the residents have asked for.
b. The SMRC know the situation with residents receiving the odour – some of the SMRC councillors receive the email odour logs direct. And the odour logs are passed onto them via other sources as well. Not to mention that the response from the SMRC odour hotline has left a bitter taste in residents mouth.
c. Residents suffering from the odour have stated they do not want the SMRC at the community meeting and do not trust the SMRC.
d. Residents complained they were furious by the meeting that the SMRC held in June 2006. And said they felt it was more like a promo for the RRRC Waste Composting Facility.
e. Residents having to put up with the odour stated they did not want to come to a community meeting to have to listen to SMRC councillors, representatives or their “groupies” wasting suffering residents time with promos. And want this opportunity to discuss the odour without them interfering.
REMEMBER! This is a community meeting held by the residents suffering from the noxious odour being emitted by the RRRC Waste Composting Facility.
A community meeting for the residents who are being afflicted by the odour to come and voice their concerns, share their own experiences and discuss what action can be taken from this point.
2. Have Councillors been invited?
Councillors have not been invited to attend.
Residents experiencing the odour have said they feel there appears to be only a few genuine councillors who actually care about their situation. The rest come across as actually supporting this facility which is constantly emitting this terrible odour.
We don’t have time for sales pitches and excuses for continuing to spend money on a facility that is guzzling up suffering residents rates and continues to emit it’s noxious odour – we want the odour stopped.
3. Have State Govt MP’s been invited?
Yes!
In fact some MP’s have actually approached residents in regards to this issue and are concerned.. and want to hear direct from the residents how the odour is affecting them.
Remember, the state election is coming up so this is the perfect time to speak with MP’s about this situation.
4. Heckling and harassing of suffering residents will not be tolerated.
Some of the residents have been concerned that folk supporting the facility may show up as part of the community and may not treat their concerns seriously.
The RRRC Waste Composting Facility noxious odour issue is serious – and people who don’t experience the odour or who choose to support the facility may not respect the immeasurable affect it has on residents families and homes.
The meeting will have a chair person.
And heckling and harassing of residents suffering from the odour will not be tolerated in the meeting.
The “Take Home” on this is…
——————————-
Residents who do cop this disgusting odour need somewhere to meet, discuss their own distress and experiences with the odour and to ban together to really put this issue on the map. Sunday is your chance to do so.
Take the opportunity to make a stand on 10am Sunday, 4th May, 2008!
Bring your family, friends – and their friends!
Let’s not spend another 4-5 plus years having to put up with not being able to enjoy our homes, backyards, having our health affected and more!
Stop The ODOUR!
