Thankyou!

The Turn-Out To The Community Meeting on Sunday was Awesome!

===============================================

Hi there

We just wanted to say how fantastic it was to see the turn-out to the Community Meeting on Sunday, 4th May, 2008 at the Leeming Bowling Club. Thank you so much, everyone!

It’s so important that residents ban together. The community demanding action is the most effective way to address this issue.

We’ve already seen the impact that “people power” has had via the odour logs on this noxious odour that is being pumped into our homes and suburbs.

Without divulging too much information – Just because you don’t think anyone else has logged the odour it doesn’t mean they haven’t. The numbers of odour logs coming in is a clear indication that residents are sick and tired of the odour and are reporting it.

AND Due to legal advice…

…on Sunday there was plenty of information that we COULD NOT SHARE on the progress of the concerned residents and their efforts in regards to the odour issue. As much as we were busting to tell you – we couldn’t.

Which is why it’s so important that residents make a stand on this so family’s aren’t suffering year after year from this disgraceful odour that is interfering with resident’s lives.

As you know, the CMCOAG – Canning Melville Community Odour Action Group – isn’t a “formal” group, as such.

It’s actually a collection of residents who have got together because they are concerned about the noxious odour being emitted from the RRRC’s Waste Composting Facility. There’s no paid or formal membership, or funding. It’s entirely up to residents to participate in their own individual way.

We are in desperate need for folk to help out with letter box drops, writing letters, typing, even donating photo copy paper, attending council meetings, submitting questions.

Any skill that you think you can volunteer, or your concerned odour suffering friends can volunteer, will be greatly appreciated to help reduce the huge workload that is currently being carried out by just a few people. Every little bit counts a lot!

Thanks again, everyone — you’re fantastic!

IMPORTANT:
———-

Don’t let yourself be made to feel insignificant at any time in regards to the odour. The more someone is making you feel this way – it probably means you’ve having more of an impact than you think.

This issue is HUGE and residents ARE DEFINITELY making a difference.

Kind regards
CMCOAG
