Hi there
1. RRRC WCF Odour Christmas Concerns

As per previous Christmas’s, residents are concerned their plans for the festive season will once again be thrown into disarray by the RRRC WCF odour. “We’re all keeping our fingers crossed that our Christmas and New Years time with family and friends will be RRRC WCF odour-free.”
Now more than ever (see Petition and DEC’s response to SMRC) this issue has come to a head and the effort from the residents has had a huge impact. Make sure on every occasion you cop this stinking noxious odour that you log it!

3. DEC’s Response to the SMRC odour abatement plan
——————————————-
The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) has stipulated that significant amendments be made to an odour abatement plan submitted by the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council (SMRC).
The SMRC’s Canning Vale Regional Resource Recovery Centre is a recycling and composting facility that has been the subject of odour complaints from the surrounding community for several years.
DEC Deputy Director General Robert Atkins said the abatement plan needed considerable improvements to ensure that it leads to effective odour management at the facility.
