Holy Cow…You Guys Are Angry with the “Snell”!
Nope, this isn’t a spelling mistake!
Residents have seen the Mayoral Election campaign (City of Canning) for candidate Norman Snell and are letting CMCOAG.com know that they are ANGRY.
As you know the RRRC Waste Composting Facility is on Canning land and has Canning approval. So whoever is elected for Mayor will certainly make a HUGE difference for those of us being afflicted by the RRRC WCF noxious odour.
Ex-Mayor Lekias is a big supporter of the RRRC WCF and the SMRC — and so is Norman Snell. Ex-Mayor Lekias has been seen out and about campaigning for, and is endorsing, Normal Snell.
Here’s Quote from Norman Snell’s promo leaflet:
“As an initial member of the steering group responsible for the introduction of recycling and the diversion of rubbish from landfill sites he is committed to the council’s ongoing waste management strategy and membership of the Regional Council. It is a strategy that makes a significant contribution to conserving resources, protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions”
Residents are VERY upset and have also stated their concerns about the following issue:

Statement: Mr Deputy Mayor, Norm J Snell is the author of a book called ‘Planet Earth Environment and People’, which includes the activities on the SMRC, and recycling in general.”
Question 1: Did Norman J Snell ever declare an interest in the SMRC while he was a Councillor at the City of Canning?

Tuesday, 16 January 2007 “Question 4: There is a question for Cr Snell, is he the author of a book that is being used by the high schools titled ‘Planet Earth Environment and People’ which discusses the SMRC and the benefits to the community? From that, I was just wondering if in fact Cr Snell is the author, and whether there is a conflict of interest in him voting against anything to do with the SMRC, because it would be in contradiction to what he has written in his book?

Most residents who experience the RRRC WCF noxious odour know how caring Joe Delle Donne is in regards to this issue, and many other issues too.
We’ve affectionally shortened his name to “JOE DD”. — hope he doesn’t mind. 
So with the phones running “hot”, the residents are screaming at CMCOAG.com to put some info on the “JOE DD” – Joe Delle Donne – in the newsletter and on the site!
CMCOAG.com contacted Acting Mayor Joe Delle Donne in regards to residents concerns on the RRRC WCF noxious odour:

“I genuinely sympathise with your plight. And if I am elected as Mayor I would like to discuss the issue with my fellow Councilors with the view of having a serious meeting with the CEO and Chairman of the SMRC to isolate the offending odour in order to abate the nuisance to the public and especially in regard to the health and the possible affect that could have of the individual person.
Because I believe the Council should enforce the required standards and condition of compliance under the Health Act and the City Zoning Scheme both administered under the City of Canning Jurisdiction.
The Council in my view has not adequately and seriously addressed the issue under the Law. I therefore think that for the interest of good governance it requires to engage all those people concerned in this on going saga and find an agreeable solution.
Should one of my opponents be elected I am sure that you will get much more of the same of what you got now?
